Forgive me for the loooong silence.
I have been very busy entertaining guests bosses from Japan. Plus the job, checklists and measurement data work they left me before they flew off back to Japan. But, before I update the 3 day short trip with my bosses, I’d like to share my exciting adventure fishing~~~!!! *get ready to be ‘noroke’-ted*
It was a Saturday, after Abg finished night shift, we had breakfast in Klang. He looked very energized despite the lack of sleep.
“Jom pi mancing nak?” -> I was delighted because at last I get to take part in one of his favourite past time = interest.
We went to Shah Alam, it was a fresh water pond. He set up everything and I started taking pictures of everything he did. There weren’t many people there that day. Probably, because we came early. After setting everything up, he went to the toilet and left me with the ‘joran’… Which eventually snapped not long after he went to the toilet. I didn’t know what to do but pick up the fishing rod and started pulling…hehehe…
It was exciting! Fighting with the fish pull-force. Abg came back and noticed me holding the rod. Helped me with the fish, but because I had it for too long with the hook, it broke off. The fish went back in the pond with the hook stuck in its mouth still. Btw, it was a ‘bawal sungai’.
The type of fish hook used.
Abg had a cut due to the friction between fishing line and his finger. Luckily no blood came out. (T.T)
After that, I sat back watching Abg make bait for the fish. Its like making dough. Ala-ala nak buat kuih gitu.
I helped making bait at the same time read the newspaper.hehehe…While Abg watched closely for the fish to eat the bait.
Next victim = Bawal sungai -> 2 ekor…. Listening to Abg telling me about all kinds of fishes in the pond, how they differ with the sea fish and how the tactic used differ from pond fishing and sea fishing makes me feel eager to see how how he cathces sea fish. nyeehehehe…*noroke banashi de gomennasai*
After the 2 bawal sungai, we had quite a long silence from the fishes until 1 pm. He started to aim at the tungku *the place where they purposely grow seaweeds for fishes to eat* trying to target fishes more…But, it was not effective. He looked a bit frustrated and gave up hope, but I kept on telling him that there is still chances and told him to wait a little more.
At the same time I was preparing the bait and doing image training. I was quite sure that the fishes are out for there hungry because it is Lunch Time. hehehe…
So, I continuously whisper to the bait that I was making, “Rohu (carp fish) will not eat this bait…Re-frame”…. And before Abg threw the fishing thread into the pond using that bait I “jampi-ed”, he said, “Ni mesti dapat ikan besar, tangan pompuan yang buat umpan” heheheh *giggles*
And he was right, I asked him to throw the fishing line opposite direction from the tungku. Suddenly, after about 5 minutes, in a flash, the fishing rod moved a bit….And to my surprise it was pulled into the pond. Abg was shocked, wasn’t fast enough to catch it. Pooff! It disappeared. The other fishers around the pond was astonished by the incident, they were rushing towards us and calling the authority of the pond to help pull out the fishing rod.
They were able to get the culprit fish but, the fishing line broke off because the fishing rod got stuch between some tree root at the base of the pond.
The lost forever, in Abg mind, fishing rod, motor and fishing line……..RM130
Fishes caught by this fishing rod……………………………………………………..20 over
Memories pulled together into the pond………………………………………….Priceless
Ala-ala iklan master card gituh…hehehe
But, all in all, Alhamdulillah, we didn’t go home empty handed. 2 bawal sungai and 1 rohu. Abg was quiet on the way back. He was still in that shock mode. He said he was wrong for locking the fishing line to the rod and he was wrong to gave up hope in the 1st place since I was doing all the image training and jampi for that carp fish…hehehe…Well, kesian. To get his mood back in, I bought him a new set of fishing rod, motor (6 bearing lagi tuh) and fishing line. He promised me we’d go to the sea next time.
Btw, gambar kat atas skali tuhla ikan Rohu yang telan set mancing Abg. Dah selamat dalam perut dah…Buat ikan bakar…Sodap!
